Charlotte Serrano Pagán

Founder & CEO | Salsa Tours PR & Clixpin | Dancer | Choreographer | Entrepreneur | Tour Guide | Digital Marketer

Living in today's world means juggling many hats—as a woman, professional, friend, sister, daughter, and single mom. Sometimes these roles align beautifully; other times, balancing them requires extraordinary effort. I often ask myself, "How do I manage it all?" The truth is—it's not always easy. But the fulfillment I gain from each part of my identity makes every challenge worth it.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, I'm proud to be a woman shaped by culture, resilience, and creativity. I was raised by a powerful single mother—my pillar and example—who holds a Ph.D. in Psychology. Her values, sacrifices, and strength molded me into who I am. She taught me the importance of integrity, empathy, and perseverance. I didn't do this alone—my mother was always by my side, moving across cities more than once to support me and my dreams. Her unwavering support gave me the confidence to keep going, even when things got tough.

Education has always been a cornerstone of my journey. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from La Salle University, completed an ATI Certification at Rutgers University, and earned additional credits in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. I also pursued graduate-level studies at New York University (NYU), with a concentration in Dance. Most recently, I proudly earned a Master of Science in Digital Marketing from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón.

Above all, I'm a devoted mother to my son, Reinier. Motherhood has been my greatest role and inspiration. It gave me the strength to dream bigger, work harder, and lead by example.

My dance journey began at age 4 and became a true calling by age 9. Trained in ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance, I performed at prestigious venues such as Teatro La Perla, Teatro Yagüez, and El Centro de Bellas Artes in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Under the direction of Honey Defilló and Estephanie Taylor, and thanks to the invaluable training from my teachers Rose Merrie Price, José Sarazen, and Evelyn Tristani de Sarazen—the founder of the Puerto Rico School of Ballet and a pioneering figure in classical dance on the island—I developed the discipline and passion that shaped my career during my time with Ballet Teatro de Puerto Rico and The Puerto Rico School of Dance.

As I evolved artistically, I transitioned into salsa and Latin rhythms, fusing classical technique with Caribbean energy. Together with my brother, we introduced aerial tricks and acrobatic lifts into our routines, helping pioneer the Salsa Cabaret style now recognized in international competitions. This innovation led to numerous accolades, including:

1st Place – International Latin Seaport Dance Competition, NY (2003)
2nd Place – Philadelphia Salsa Open (2004)
7th Place – Puerto Rico World Salsa Open (2005)
3rd Place – Sábado Gigante: A Bailar A Bailar (2006)
1st Place – Philadelphia World Championship Preliminaries (2007)
1st Place – Sábado Gigante (Solo Female Dancer, 2007)
1st Place – NJ Puerto Rican Association Dance Competition (2007)
Top Ten – World Salsa Championship (2007)
1st Place – Philadelphia Salsa Congress "On1" (2008)
6th Place – World Latin Dance Cup (2011)
4th Place – World Latin Dance Cup – Salsa Cabaret (2016)
3rd Place – The Summit Bachata Showcase, Large Team Division (2022)

For over a decade, I was a dancer and part of the dance ensemble on Sábado Gigante, the longest-running Spanish-language TV show in history. I started working remotely but soon moved to Miami to be closer to the production. Throughout my entire career, I never feared change; if I had to move from city to city, I did so without hesitation. That's why I lived in Philadelphia, Miami, New York, Ohio, and California—always with my son, always pursuing a dream. Each city became a chapter in my story, filled with sacrifice, growth, and unwavering determination.

While living in California—just before returning to Puerto Rico and after feeling I had accomplished everything I wanted in the entertainment industry—I auditioned for Snoop Dogg's U.S. tour. Even after relocating back home, the team continued flying me in from Puerto Rico for concerts and events. It was an unforgettable experience that reminded me how far my talent, passion, and persistence could take me. Each city shaped my path, teaching me perseverance, sacrifice, and the power of believing in something greater than fear.

In 2019, I founded Salsa Tours PR, a cultural tourism company that blends dance, heritage, and adventure. What started with one spontaneous salsa class for a tourist while I was driving for Uber turned into a successful business that now offers immersive, customized experiences throughout Puerto Rico. As CEO, I've led the company organically with passion, growing it to over 2,000 5-star reviews across platforms like Airbnb, TripAdvisor, Viator, and Google.

Our tours are more than sightseeing—they're rhythmic, joyful explorations of identity, culture, and connection.

Launching 2026, As a freelancer and entrepreneur, I struggled to find a centralized, professional platform to showcase all my services. So I created one. Clixpin is a free, service-based platform for freelancers and business owners to create their own e-commerce profile pages. These profiles allow users to sell products or services, generate passive income, and manage their businesses—all from one place.

Under development since 2019 and set to launch in 2026, Clixpin is my second startup and a personal mission to empower others in the gig and creator economy.

Meet Charlotte

Watch Charlotte share her story and passion for Puerto Rico

In addition to performing and founding businesses, I've worn many professional hats—social worker, HIV therapist, DNA counselor, teacher, solar energy consultant, and payroll coordinator. I've also served as a TV host, news anchor, and presenter for major Hispanic media outlets including Univision, Telefutura, GEN TV, and Telemundo Philadelphia.

Today, I am a dancer, choreographer, tour guide, fitness enthusiast, and entrepreneur. I thrive on movement and creativity. I've never subscribed to a one-size-fits-all lifestyle. Staying resourceful has been key.

After a successful career in entertainment and performing arts—now supposedly retired from the stage, with a son in college and over 40 years of life experience—I returned to Puerto Rico and became an Uber driver. That chapter helped me bridge the gap between survival and purpose, reminding me that every step counts. I believe in following your passion—but also having the tools to sustain your journey.

Every chapter of my life—every detour, reinvention, and reinvestment—has led me here: A passionate mother. A bold entrepreneur. A lifelong artist. A resilient dreamer. I continue to welcome new challenges, meaningful collaborations, and projects that uplift others. My journey is far from over.
